Sunday School
The children’s Sunday school classes are designed to present the Gospel of Christ and the biblical stories, which build the foundation and knowledge of God’s Word. Our Sunday School classes cover Pre-school, Kindergarten/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grade. Sunday school is at 9:15 – 10:05 a.m. with a 20 minute pre-worship for the children following Sunday School, before the church service, which includes music, memorization of Bible verses and a study in prayer.
Hoops Basketball
Hoops basketball is our outreach program which involves children Pre-K through 5th grade throughout Alexandria and extended area. The Hoops Basketball program runs six weeks beginning in January through the end of February. Hoops is held Saturday mornings with times specific for each age group. The Hoops program provides a Christian atmosphere in which to learn the fundamentals of basketball and play games with friends in the community. Incorporated in the Hoops program is a time for a lesson about Jesus, being a part of God’s Team and instilling sportsmanship, trust, teamwork, kindness, and respect. Each Hoops player receives a shirt and is given an award at the special service as they complete the season.e
Nets Volleyball
Nets volleyball is our outreach program, which involves children Pre-K through 5th grade throughout Alexandria and extended area. The Nets Volleyball program runs six weeks beginning in September through the October. Nets is held Saturday mornings with times specific for each age group. The Nets program provides a Christian atmosphere in which to learn the fundamentals of volleyball and play games with other friends in the community. Incorporated in the Nets program is a time for a lesson about Jesus, being a part of God’s Team and instilling sportsmanship, trust, teamwork, kindness, and respect. Summer ActivitiesDuring the summer FBC offers a week for Vacation Bible School, which is designed with an excellent program of lessons and activities chosen from one of the outstanding Christian publishing companies. In the summer, church camp is also offered for children 3rd grade through High school. Camp is held at McCormick’s Creek State Park and Olivet near Bloomington through the Friendship Baptist Association or a variety of camp weeks are offered through the American Baptist Conference at Tippecanoe Baptist Camp in North Webster, Indiana.
